Annual wellness care is recommended for all animal companions. Your pet’s health is important to us, and our goal is to keep your pet healthy for a long and happy life. At the South Towne Veterinary Hospital we believe that annual wellness exams for your pets are important steps toward that goal. The annual exam allows us to develop a picture of your pet’s overall health so we may detect disease before it becomes a serious health condition. Seeing your pet annually can also allow us to develop a long-term comprehensive health baseline for your pet, which will help aid us in future treatment. An annual exam for your pet is the equivalent to of a human being going to the doctor about once every three years.
Wellness care here at the South Towne Veterinary Hospital include a physical exam, thorough screenings for common diseases such as heartworm and lymes disease, and important vaccines that will protect your dog or cat from preventable and serious diseases. Food and nutrition guidance along with an oral exam are also a part of the annual wellness care. We also recommend checking regular bloodwork once a year as your pet ages.
